Evie Crowhurst is a visual artist based in Sussex, with a practice rooted in alternative photographic processes that seek to capture and understand the intricacies of human existence. Her work is driven by a deep fascination with the individual journeys we each embark on while co-existing within the larger tapestry of life. She explores this concept through the physicality of rural walks, using analogue methods to document the experiences that emerge throughout.

In recent work, Crowhurst has turned to moving image as a means of expressing existence—finding that movement, with its fluidity and transience, most closely mirrors the way reality takes form through art. The dynamic interplay of time, space, and motion allows her to investigate the complexities of ‘sonder’.

Crowhurst also incorporate painting and sculpture into her practice, creating immersive, multi-dimensional works that invite the viewers to engage directly with the art. These pieces serve as spaces for reflection and interaction, blurring the lines between observation and reality. These have been exhibited in venues such as The Poly, Cornwall 2024 and will be showcased in upcoming exhibitions 2025
